1940s Black Gold full sweep wrap front housecoat hostess dress
My favorite era for Evelyn Pearson. Right after she started her designs.
Old Hollywood glam!
Fabric is a sturdy and crisp shimmering in what feels like a nylon.
Color is a burnt gold metallic background with black embossed print.
Puckered and almost 3D.
Bodice is cut in a dolman sleeve with tucking at the shoulders that give the front a layered look.
Reinforced, and tucked to create the shawl collar.
Wrap styling with an inside tie, and outer snap at the side waist.
Gorgeous and dramatic sheer panel in black and gold contrasting colors attach at the waist and flow to the hem.
Full and flowing skirt.
Pinked seams.
3/4 Sleeves have deep cut armholes and taper to a thin wrist.
Open from the waist down.
Very Good Condition. Cleaned and ready to go. Last pic shows the back of the bodice where some of the gold "paint" that has come off over the years, leaving just the black. Also evident on part of the front.
