LOUIS FERAUD vintage 1960s mod evening coat, short opera coat, Black Damask jacket
vintage mod evening coat by LOUIS FERAUD Paris, Black Damask Dress Opera Coat
Louis Feraud opened his first shop in Paris in 1955. I would date this to the early 60s.
Definitely has a bit of a mod vibe.
Perfect to throw on over your cocktail or dinner party dress.
Sturdy Black tone on tone damask fabric is textured and almost 3D with what looks like dandelions.
Lush black velvet collar.
Currently double breasted with one button one the inside and one button closure on the outside. Would be very easy to make single breasted just by moving buttons.
Pretty A-line cut.
No fabric labels.
Fully lined in what feels like silk.
Skirt of the coat is reinforced with the paper lining from that period to give body and structure.
Excellent condition
Measures:
No stretch.
Can move the buttons to add or subtract measurements.
36 bust
17 across the shoulder
32 at the empire seam - where the buttons are currently
40 hips - open from the waist down
37 long
**41 from end to end at the waist seam if you wanted to make it single breasted
