Edwardian Victorian 1906 wedding dress,
Vintage custom made white cotton high neck 4 pc gown
This dress is an engineering marvel.
Consists of 4 pieces; actually more than that since the bottom of the sleeves and collar are not attached to the dress. And then there is the belt.
Bodice features the pigeon bust that hooks in the back but actually wraps in front making it a bit more flexible than it's 22 inch waist (but only on the top).
Smocked insert at chest.
Lace across the yoke.
High lace neck that just sits there. Not attached.
Hook closes in the back.
Puffed sleeves with ruffle lace trim. The bottom lace of the sleeve is also separate.
Skirt is full with pin tucks around the hips.
Hook close in back.
The 2 undergarments are a petticoat and a corset cover.
Dress is so magical.
Good condition. Fabric on the undergarments is cotton so pretty stable. The outer pieces are a blend of silk and cotton, so some holes have emerged. The original owner said she washed it in the laundry so that probably helped them along. Wherever there was silk lining, has been removed due to deterioration. Some hooks could be replaced. Great for study or display.
